To rein in the mind, the intellect must exercise its ability for discernment. In the Bhagavad Gita, this is called Buddhi Yog. Discernment requires empowering the intellect with divine knowledge.

Surrendering the intellect means to think in accordance with the knowledge received from God via the medium of the scriptures and the bona fide Guru.

बुद्धि का समर्पण तभी होता है जब हम शास्त्रों और सच्चे गुरु से प्राप्त ज्ञान के अनुरूप सोचना सीख जाते हैं।
